CABLE GUARD

Double-Walled Heat Shrink Tubing 4:1

Heat shrinkable, flexible polyolefin tube with internal meltable adhesive for the lasting protection of electrical wiring and mechanical components. Cable Guard is more versatile than conventional heat shrinkable tubing due to the size and high shrink factor. The adhesive bonds to plastic, rubber, neoprene, steel and polyethylene.

CABLE GUARD

Moisture and vibration resistant protective tubing with adhesive.

Special Features:

  • Excellent protection against corrosion, UV-rays, water, synthetic fuels, hydraulic oils, chemicals and acids.
  • Prevents electrolytic corrosion and bonds permanently with the component.

Areas of Application

Plant construction, lift and conveyor systems, mechanical engineering, agricultural machines and municipal equipment, motor vehicles and commercial vehicles, trailer and caravan construction, sound systems and entertainment, aeronautical engineering and marine, amusement parks and maintenance services, light and control cabinet construction, racing, etc.

Application Examples

  • Encapsulation of a wide variety of materials.
  • Insulation and protection of electrical wiring and automotive components.
  • Insulation and protection of wire, ropes and components.
  • Connection and sealing of underwater motor main cables.
  • Manufacture of various forms, such as handles and hand rail protectors or protective caps.
  • Protection of coaxial cable connections and sealing of existing cable connectors.
  • Protection against unravelling on textile and metal rope ends.

Instructions for use

A hot air blower is recommended for processing. A lighter is sufficient for smaller diameters. The connection should be heated evenly all around. When using on cable forks, a flat pair of pliers should be used to press the heated tubing together. When cooled, the total mass is a flexible, tough and homogeneous layer with controlled wall thickness. For the manufacture of detachable protective covers, the form should be treated beforehand with a release agent such as Silicone or PTFE spray. The storage temperature should not exceed +40°C.
